Born in 1906 in Germany, Isidor Fisch came to the United States in 1925 with his friend Henry Uhlig. In early 1932, Fisch met Hauptmann and the two became both friends and business partners, agreeing to split the profits and losses of Fisch’s fur business and Hauptmann’s stock investments equally. A frail and sickly man, Fisch decided to return to Germany to visit in the Winter of 1933. The night before he left, according to Hauptmann, he left several items with Hauptmann. On March 29, 1934, Fisch died in Liepzig, Germany.
