Edward Shaughnessy's, a cell partner of McKinney and Henderson at the Albany County Jail, offer of evidence about the Shepard murder in return for reduction in his sentence (March, 1999).

Seeking a reduction in sentence, Shaughnessy tells prosecutors of testimony he could offer in the upcoming trials.  Specifically, Shaughnessy says the gun used in the beating was bought for $100 and, at the time of the killing, McKinning was hoping to sell it for an "8-ball" (3.5 grams of cocaine).  He says that what got the two men thinking about robbing Shepard was his platinum credit card he used at the bar.  He also says that after leaving him, they planned to break into his house and steal his computer, television, etc.
